Various facilities for the resident of Kongthong village were today installed by the 67th Battalion, CRPF Shillong as part of its civic action programme in collaboration with the village development committee.
The facilities include a community shed, water storage system, a children’s park and bathroom/washing space. Solar lamps were also distributed to the needy students of the village.
Commandant of the battalion Alok Bhattacharya, chairman of the village committee Rothell Khongsit, secretary dorbar Raid Khongthong TS Riahtam, sordar Raid Khongthong Kanol Majaw, residents of the village, CRPF second-in-command Ajay Kumar Yadav, Deputy Commandant Saurabh Rajput, officers and CRPF personnel were present at the programme.
Bhattacharya expressed his gratitude to the village development committee, the leaders and residents of the village for their support in carrying out the programme. He also reiterated the resolve of the CRPF to continuously strive to serve the people of the count and urged locals to join the elite force.
