Shillong, Aug 9: The 67 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) celebrated Raksha Bandhan with the Akhil Bharatiya Marwari Mahila Sammelan (ABMMS) today at its campus in Polo.
A group of 15 members from ABMMS graced the occasion and performed the traditional ritual of tying Rakhi on the wrists of all ranks of the battalion, symbolising their unwavering support, blessings, and respect for the soldiers who dedicate their lives to the service of the nation.
The entire premises resonated with festive warmth, traditional songs, and expressions of brotherhood, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of home for the CRPF personnel who often remain miles away from their families while discharging their duties.
Commandant of 67 Bn Sunil Kumar Savita extended his heartfelt gratitude to the members of ABMMS for their noble gesture and for bringing a sense of familiar belonging to the troops.
In his address, he remarked, “This act of solidarity and affection by the women of ABMMS reminds us that though we may be away from our homes, we are never away from the hearts of the people we serve. Such gestures uplift the morale of our personnel and reinforce the sacred bond that Raksha Bandhan represents.”
The initiative was widely appreciated by all ranks of the Battalion and stands as a shining example of community engagement and civil-society participation in fostering unity, respect, and national spirit.
During the event Second-In-Command Sanjev Kumar, Deputy Commandants Rajender Singh and Thanglenlal Misao, Assistant Commandants Kamal Kant and Rohit Kumar, Medical Officer Dr RahulputraIshwar Gajbhiye, officers and other ranks were present on the occasion.
