The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is set to repair the cracked Umpasu bridge in Sonapyrdi as machineries to commence work have reached the area today.
It may be mentioned that cracks have been found in the structure of the Umpasu bridge in Sonapyrdi, on the Jowai-Ratacherra Highway, leading to the East Jaiñtia Hills district administration slapping restrictions on the plying of heavy vehicles.
Meanwhile, traffic restrictions to ensure repair works commence smoothly from tomorrow.
