The Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) has received Rs 17.52 lakh in revenue from seven markets under its jurisdiction over the past year.
Chief Executive Member Titosstarwell Chyne today informed the house that the amount collected is from seven markets, including regulated markets of the council and shares from various Himas.
However, he said that the annual 10 percent share from the Himas has not been coming on a regular basis in the past years but the present executive council has written to them and the situation has started to improve.
Chyne informed, though, that the cattle market under Hima Mylliem has asked for more time to pay its share to the KHADC owing to the Covid-19 situation in the state in the last couple of years.
