Ten integrated village cooperative societies (IVCSs) have written to the Deputy Commissioner of South Garo Hills to complain about the way the ‘vehicle scheme interview’ was handled by the District Agriculture Officer.
In the letter, the signatories from the 10 IVCSs allege that on September 27 the DAO held an interview of the IVCSs for the scheme, which is meant to alleviate the difficulties farmers face in securing transport and economically transporting their produce.
The 10 IVCSs named in the letter plus others attended the interview but the letter claims that Gangga IVCS, which was not represented at the aforementioned interview, was awarded the scheme.
The signitatories have demanded an inquiry to uncover what they say smacks of rank corruption.
