New containment orders have been issued by the District Magistrate of East Khasi Hills to fight the spread of Covid-19.
The Ferndale Apartment Complex, MG Road with nine Covid-19 positive cases was declared a containment zone and at Pine Walk Quarter No. 20/2 near Rhino Cinema as micro-containment zone.
Meanwhile, new containment orders were also issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Ri-Bhoi to fight the spread of Covid-19.
The houses and compounds of Oling Nongrum, Edmund Shadap, Nicholas Malai and Biangtihun Marbaniang of Khyndewso village have all been declared as micro-containment areas. The village of Umklai has also been declared a containment zone.
No person shall be allowed to move in the containment area and inhabitants within the containment area shall not move out and they shall strictly remain inside their homes, with no gatherings, events, functions whatsoever of any nature and forms or social, political, religious, economic activities allowed.
The Block Development Officer shall be the Supervising Officer and monitor strict compliance of the order.
