Areas under Shnongpdeng, Darrang, Kongwang, Lymba, Dawki, Bakur, including the entry points at e. Dawki Amlarem Jowai road- Shnongpdeng, Dawki Boating Point and the Dawki PHC up to Tamabil junction has been declared containment areas.
The Sub- Divisional Officer (Civil) Amlarem Sub-Division has informed that unregulated entry and exit movement in these areas begins from midnight of April 14.
The order was issued after detection of positive Covid-19 cases and due to recent high risk and low risk contact with the positive cases. No persons are allowed to move into the containment area and inhabitants are not allowed to move out, the order added.
Furthermore, no gatherings, events, functions, social, political, religious, economic activities are allowed. Shopping establishments will remain closed as availability of essential and medical requirements for purchase will be ensured through the office of the sub divisional officer (Supply).
All government and private institutions located within the boundary of the containment will also be closed.
The order said all vehicles engaging in border trade with Bangladesh via the Land Customs Station, Tamabil will continue to operate but concerned association/owner are to strictly ensure that no vehicles are parked on the roadside in the containment areas and all vehicles are to proceed to the border without stopping mid-way.
The services of the office of the Superintendent of Customs, Land Customs Station during the enforcement of the order are deemed essential service.
All regular vehicles originating from outside of the containment areas and plying through the NH-40E are also not allowed to stop mid-way in the containment areas.
The Incident Commander who is the Sub Divisional Officer (C) shall be the Supervising officer.
The order will not apply to health workers, officials of the Supply Branch of the Office of the Sub Divisional Officer (Supply) Amlarem, other government officials/staff dealing with ensuring essential services, press including electronic and print media, petrol pumps and LPG delivery workforce.
