Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma announced through social media today that he has contracted Covid-19 and is in home isolation with mild symptoms of the viral infection.
“I request all those who came in contact with me in the past five days to kindly keep a watch on their health and, if necessary, get tested. Stay safe,” Sangma tweeted.
The Chief Minister had tested positive through the TrueNat test, Health and Family Welfare Minister AL Hek said.
“The Chief Minister had volunteered for the test after he felt uneasy,” Hek said, adding that the swab samples of the family members of the CM will also be taken.
Despite being ill Sangma continued to work from home, launching the Meghalaya Centralised Inspection System and attending an interactive session the Meghalaya State Youth Policy virtually.
Meanwhile, Governor Satya Pal Malik too has undergone Covid-19 test.
The Chief Minister had met him at the Raj Bhavan on Wednesday to discuss on the Inner Line Permit and the Meghalaya Residents Safety and Security Act.
