Chief Minister and President of the National People’s Party, Conrad K Sangma, has kept up his intense campaigning schedule, today batting for the incumbent Chief Executive Member of the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC), Dipul Marak, in Garobadha, Selsella and Kalchenpara.
Marak is seeking reelection to the Rochonpara GHADC seat at the April 12 polls.
Speaking at a rally, Marak highlighted his efforts while in charge of the council, including, he said, weeding out ghost employees that were draining the council’s coffers.
Sangma, meanwhile, described Marak as a hardcore party loyalist with the caliber and leadership qualities to work for the people at the grassroots.
“Dipul Marak has closely worked with our founder leader, the late PA Sangma (Sangma’s father), and dedicated himself for the party and the interest of the people. He has been tirelessly working to reform the council and deserves to be reelected,” the CM was quoted as saying.
Sangma also said that Marak is an able and disciplined leader who knows his responsibilities towards society.
