It looks like the Chairman and Managing Director of Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited (MeECL) and Chief Minister Conrad Sangma are not in sync with each other as far as communication is concerned.
While Sangma had informed media persons that the load shedding would be withdrawn in the “next 24 hours”, the CMD of MeECL Arunkumar Kembhavi today afternoon went a little bit further to say that the load shedding has been withdrawn with “immediate effect”.
The statement issued by Kembhavi has brought a sense of relief to people across the State. Many have taken it so seriously by not charging their mobile phones, doing their early evening cooking etc as they thought that power supply is back to normal.
However, much to the shock and anger of people, the load shedding took place again today from 7 pm to 8 pm.
“We have been cheated again,” some people screamed even as they slammed the CMD of MeECL for “not being honest”.
It is unclear as to who is behind this “evening bloomer”. Some people even hilariously blamed the MeECL authorities for forgetting to inform the “switch man” about the total withdrawal of load shedding.
