TMC candidate Dikkanchi D Shira today slammed Chief Minister Conrad Sangma and stated that he has “bedevilled” the people as roads have turned from bad to worst even as he uses a chopper to travel across the State.
“While Conrad continues to travel in choppers, people are left to use the roads in Meghalaya, which are in terrible shape due to the apathy of the MDA government,” she said
Stating that the MDA government lacked people-centric vision she said Meghalaya TMC has pledged that 6,459 villages in Meghalaya will be connected to black-topped motorable roads. “Not just this, all major arterial roads will be upgraded to all-weather roads,” the TMC leader said.
Shira, who will run the Mahendraganj seat in the elections, said all the promises given by Meghalaya TMC to the people would be implemented within “100 days of forming the government.”
She further said that the NPP-led MDA government has betrayed the people in ensuring drinking water supply. “The MDA might claim that the Jal Jeevan Mission scheme has been a success but the people of Meghalaya know the reality,” she stated.
“Last year, in Rongjeng’s Imsamdrop village, the villagers were robbed of drinking water and were tricked into believing the project was completed. If the MDA government failed to implement JJM in a village with 37 households, their incompetency needs no further proof. This is why we have promised to facilitate piped drinking water connections to all households in the state,” she added.
Stating that the 10 pledged made by the party are “realistic” she took a dig at the State government and said, “If the MDA government is unable to understand them, it is only because they lack a people-centric vision and intention to uplift our people.”
