Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma was conferred with the Honorary Degree – ‘Honoris Causa’ by the Sharda University, Noida, Uttar Pradesh today.
Vice Chancellor of the University Dr. Sibaram Khara presented the degree and the memento to Sangma in presence of Union Education Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank during the 4th Convocation Ceremony of the University.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister said that it is important for educators and leaders to focus on the development of the youth. “We need to shape the youth in positive manner and take this country forward”.
Receiving the degree, he said that Sharda University will shape the future of the nation. “It is my focus that every citizen and youth of the State is productive; it is not the quantity but the quality that matters. Be the best you can to contribute to the society, the State, the country and Mother Earth. He lauded the outstanding performance of the students and efforts of all involved in taking this institution to high levels of eminence”, he said.
Dr. Pokhriyal was also conferred an Honorary Degree by the Sharda University.
