Leader of opposition Dr. Mukul Sangma today said that the no confidence motion moved by the opposition Congress for the removal of Speaker, Metbah Lyngdoh was not “personal”.
“It is nothing personal but it is something for the larger good of the people and the larger interest of the State,” Dr. Sangma told reporters.
“Therefore, as a responsible opposition we felt it necessary and duty bound to move this resolution,” the leader of opposition added.
He said that the Congress wants to put it before the people of the State and the nation as to why it feels that this resolution proposing the removal of the Assembly Speaker from his office was tabled by them.
Stating that it will not be right on his part to spell out the reasons for the no-confidence motion against the Speaker, Dr. Sangma stated that somehow the opposition is represented by only members of one political party (Congress).
