Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma today stated that the Congress is desperate for a comeback and has resorted to making personal remarks.
“One thing is for sure that in my political career, I don’t think there was so much desperation from the opposition that it has gone to such a level, where personal remarks is actually taking place,” Sangma said.
He also said that he did not expect such remarks from people of their stature.
Sangma who is also the National President of the NPP said that a few days back, some Congress MLAs had called him and almost apologised for the language used by the leadership.
“This speaks volumes of the situation the Congress is in itself,” Sangma said.
It may be mentioned that earlier this week the Congress had decided to write to the partners in the NPP led alliance to sit across and discuss the formation of an alternative government in the wake of the recent incidents in the State.
The Chief Minister also said that the opposition Congress had been trying to topple the MDA government on several occasions but without luck.
“Our partners have been approached many times,” Sangma said. He accused the opposition of not focussing on development of the people but they only wanted to topple the government and come back to power.
