The first list of 46 candidates will be finalised by the Congress party tomorrow.
The election committee of Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) will meet here tomorrow to clear the list and submit the same to the All India Congress Committee (AICC) for its approval.
Meanwhile, Rajya Sabha MP Mukul Wasnik has been named senior observer of the Congress party for the elections in the three states of Meghalaya, Tripura and Nagaland.
Congress MP from Kerala Benny Mehnan and former MP J D Seelam have been appointed as observers for the Meghalaya polls.
Assembly polls in Meghalaya, Tripura and Nagaland are slated for early next year.
