The North Eastern Service of Akashvani (commonly known as All India Radio) will host a concert on Wednesday at U Soso Tham Auditorium here to mark National Broadcasting Day and celebrate 90 years of Akashvani’s service to the nation.
The concert, featuring musical acts from different North East states, will begin at 3pm and entry is free for members of the public.
Director General of Akashvani, Pragya Paliwal Gaur, will be present during the celebration of the region’s musical diversity.
The concert will feature performances by Jayanta Jamatia from Tripura, Lungleng Trio from Mizoram, Joe’s Apartment from Sikkim, Rupam & Friends from Assam, Innocent Eyes from Manipur, AR Folk from Arunachal Pradesh, Fifth Note from Nagaland and Summersalt from Meghalaya. Their performances will span folk, fusion, contemporary and traditional genres.
