With March coming to an end, cabinet minister Hamletson Dohling demanded that Union Home Minister Amit Shah come clean on the Inner Line Permit (ILP), which the state government is demanding for Meghalaya.
Shah had reportedly promised to visit Shillong this month to discuss the issue with the government and other stakeholders but has not shown up.
Speaking to reporters, Dohling said, “We were filled with hope after Shah gave his word to Chief Minister Conrad Sangma to re-visit Shillong in March to discuss ILP for Meghalaya but now March has ended and we want to know if the Union Home Minister has taken us for a ride.”
He added that Shah cannot act childishly on this serious issue and demanded a clear statement from him on the ILP.
