The Meghalaya Retired College Teachers’ Association (MRCTA) has expressed its condolences following the death of Prof Obren Shanpru, a former lecturer of commerce at St Anthony’s College, Shillong.
Prof Shanpru, who was ill for some time, passed away on Wednesday in Shillong.
In a release today, the MRCTA said that Shanpru joined St Anthony’s Department of Commerce in 1982 and retired in April 2015. He is well-remembered for the knowledge of the subjects he dealt with and also for his amiable nature. He was very friendly with his colleagues and also with all he came into contact with within and outside the College.
The MRCTA wished that the bereaved family be given with strength and fortitude to bear the loss.
