Shillong, Mar 26: All private coaching centres are now required to register with the Education Department and to adopt student protection norms with effective grievance redressal mechanisms.
The directive follows the notification of the Meghalaya Registration of Private Coaching Centre Rules, 2026, aimed at bringing both online and offline coaching institutes under a formal regulatory framework.
East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner in a release today said the rules have been framed in compliance with the order of the Supreme Court.
All private coaching centres under the district have been directed to register in accordance with the provisions of the rules.
