Shillong, Nov 10: The Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) Bengaluru Unit has submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma, highlighting issues that require attention for the welfare of Meghalaya citizens residing in Bengaluru.
The KSU urged the government to operationalise the Meghalaya House in Bengaluru, introduce direct flights, establish a mechanism for repatriation of deceased citizens, and appoint officers to oversee the welfare of Meghalaya citizens in Bengaluru.
The students’ union has expressed gratitude for the acquisition of a building for the Meghalaya House but appealed the government to complete the necessary works to make it functional.
The union said direct flight connectivity would ease travel challenges faced by Meghalaya citizens.
