The CM Elevate Conclave for entrepreneurs of Garo Hills region was held today at the District Auditorium in Tura which was attended by Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister reiterated the state government’s vision and mission to turn Meghalaya into a 10 billion dollar economy by 2028. “The economy will grow in its true sense if the youth, women, farmers, entrepreneurs and every section of the society are a part of the growth story,” he said.
In the last one and a half years the economy of the state has increased 45,000 crore to 56,000 crore, he added.
He also spoke about the program and informed that beneficiaries will receive a subsidy of 50 per cent or more of the total project cost.
During the programme, the Chief Minister also distributed the appointment letters to Village Data Volunteers (VDVs) and handed over the work order for the Rs 4.5 crore bio-mining project of waste at the Rongkhon Songital landfill in Tura.
He said with the setting up of the scientific landfill the 50,000 MT of waste will be recycled. The project will within 12-18 months, recycle the waste improving the dumping ground that has become a problem and an eye sore for the residents of the area, he added.
Sanction letters to beneficiaries of Agri-Response Vehicles, Agri-Warehouse, Common Facility Centre, Piggery, Poultry and Goat Farming schemes under CM Elevate and the Floriculture Mission were also distributed during the occasion.
