Three Grade 1 Judicial Officers were administered their oath by Chief Justice of the High Court of Meghalaya, Justice Biswanath Somadder, here today.
In his brief speech, Somadder urged the officers to work diligently and render their services with utmost commitment. He stated that the legal profession is not a career but rather a commitment and it is also not a job but a duty towards mankind. The most important duty of judges is to try to reduce inequality, which is why, in the Constitution, the word Justice is followed by Social, Economical and Political, he added.
Others who were present were Justice HS Thangkhiew, Justice W Diengdoh, and C Dkhar, Director of the Meghalaya State Judicial Academy.
