The Deputy Commissioner of Ri-Bhoi has informed that the Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation under the Union Ministry of Jal Shakti is inviting entries for the 3rd National Water Awards for 2020-21 as part of its efforts to encourage and felicitate individuals and organizations for adopting innovative practices to augment groundwater, rainwater harvesting, recycling of water and other steps to ensure creation of a culture of better water management.
Urban local bodies, village authorities, individuals and interested corporates in Ri-Bhoi are invited to file their nominations for awards appropriate to their categories by February 10.
The detailed list of categories and other related information can be obtained from the office of the Deputy Commissioner during office hours.
The National Water Awards have been given out since 2018. The Central Ground Water Board (CGWB) has been made the nodal agency for submission of application forms and for further information in this regard, the public can also visit the websites www.mowr.gov.in or www.cgwb.gov.in.
