Police are investigating an apparent case of murder that was committed at the Byrnihat Oxygen Plant in Rajabagan, Ri-Bhoi.
The deceased, Ramprasad Neogi (50) was an employee at the plant and had been working there for more than 20 years.
Neogi had been seen reporting for duty at around 10pm yesterday night and went to the pump room where he was maintaining the register.
At around 11:30pm, a security guard, who was on his rounds, found Neogi slumped in a chair with wounds to his head.
Police suspect that he was murdered and are interrogating his co-workers.
