The annual Business Leadership Summit 2022 of IIM, Shillong took off today with the inaugural ceremony held virtually.
IIM Director, Dr DP Goyal who welcomed attendees to the summit outlined the contribution of the institute in developing the business leaders over the past 14 years since its inception.
Prof. Sanjay Kakoty spoke on the topic “Leadership in Challenging Times”. He discussed about the changing leadership landscape in the context of present global scenarios.
Kakoty mentioned that it is challenging that 10 per cent of the population holds 90 per cent of the total wealth and resources while the rest of 10 per cent of wealth and resources are held by the remaining 90 per cent of the population. The wealth and resources disparity, rapid urbanization, and the problem of good food are a few of the present time challenges that the leaders of today are confronted with, he added.
The summit will host 29 speakers in various panels that include Consulting, Operations, System and Analytics, Finance and Investment, Marketing, and Human Resource.
