Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma will chair a pre-budget discussion with the citizens of the State tomorrow in preparation for the State Budget 2025-2026.
“As the state moves toward becoming a USD 10 billion economy, the discussion aims to engage citizens in shaping the financial plans of the state,” the Finance (Economic Affairs) Department said in a statement today.
The session will provide an opportunity for constructive dialogue on Meghalaya’s fiscal policies and upcoming budgetary allocations, it said.
The department has encouraged citizens to join the discussion virtually via live stream and share their questions and suggestions through comments. The session will be broadcasted live on Hello Meghalaya, as well as on the official Facebook pages of the chief minister and MyMeg Meghalaya.
The Chief Minister will present the Budget on March 5. The budget session of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly will be held from February 28 to March 13, 2025.
