Shillong, Sep 3: The special recruitment rally for youth of Meghalaya to enlist as Constables (General Duty) in the Border Security Force (BSF) began in Shillong and Tura.
The rally being held in BSF Campus, 200 Bn Dhanakgiri, Tura, and SHQ BSF Mawpat, Campus Shillong has drawn an overwhelming response, showcasing the deep enthusiasm of Meghalaya’s youth to serve the nation.
“With a remarkable 70:30 male-to-female participation ratio, the event reflects a growing wave of empowerment among young women eager to join the country’s frontline defenders and serve the nation,” the BSF in a statement today said.
Shillong witnessed an even larger turnout, with candidates traveling from remote and far-flung areas, proving the rally’s widespread impact and the commitment of Meghalaya’s youth to pursue this noble calling, it said.
For aspirants, joining the BSF is not only an opportunity for a stable and rewarding career but also a chance to stand as guardians of India’s borders, upholding the values of courage, integrity, and sacrifice. The rally symbolises the BSF’s commitment to nurturing Meghalaya’s potential and channelling it toward national service, the BSF added.
The BSF has launched the rally to fill 300 vacancies exclusively reserved for Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates of Meghalaya.
The breakdown in vacancies provided by the BSF lists 191 posts for male candidates, 34 for female candidates, another 64 for male candidates in border districts and 11 for female candidates in border districts.
