The Border Security Force (BSF), in Meghalaya seized narcotics and other smuggled items worth Rs 1, 01, 22,689 crore and apprehended five Indian and 23 Bangladeshi nationals involved in various border-related crimes from February 1 to 14.

In addition to its border security duties, the BSF helped during an accident and conducted eight civic action initiatives, including free medical camps, skill development training, sports tournaments, and cultural activities. These initiatives have played a significant role in enhancing the well-being of the local population and fostering trust between the BSF and border communities, the statement said.
The BSF also participated in bilateral meetings to address cross-border issues and enhance coordination with the border guarding forces of Bangladesh.
“These efforts were bolstered by close collaboration with state and central agencies in joint operations aimed at maintaining peace and preventing illegal activities in the region,” the statement said.
