The Border Security Force (BSF) Meghalaya rescued 46 cattle worth more than Rs 8 lakh meant to be smuggled to Bangladesh.
Acting on specific intelligence inputs, troops of 4th Battalion BSF conducted a swift operation near the international border in the West Jaintia Hills district.
During the operation, the cattle were found tied in a jungle area, strategically placed for smuggling across the border. The seized cattle were subsequently handed over to the police station PPP Muktapur for further necessary legal action, the BSF said.
