The 172 Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF) Meghalaya organised a mega medical camp under its civic action programme at Holy Cross School in Umkiang, East Jaintia Hills today.
Eighteen doctors from various medical institutions including BSF gave free consultation to the large number of patients and also distributed free medicines.
The medical camp was inaugurated by Dr. Jalaj Sinha, DIG (Med) Frontier HQ Meghalaya.
Besides organizing medical camp, BSF also distributed computers for schools and gym machinery for youth in the presence of Deputy Commissioner, Abhilash Baranwal and Sanjay Sharma, Commandant 172 Bn BSF.
BSF is holding such events towards its commitment to help needy people and strengthen the relation between BSF and Bordering population, a press release said.
