Shillong, Sep 28: A blood donation camp was organised by the BSF Composite Hospital Shillong and BSF FTR HQ Meghalaya in collaboration with Blood Bank Department at NEIGRIHMS on 24 September on the occasion of “Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan” and “National Voluntary Blood Donation Day”.
The camp, headed by Dr Lutika N Lyngdoh, Senior Medical Officer along with her team, was inaugurated by Om Prakash Upadhyay, Inspector General. FTR HQ BSF, Shillong.
Upadhyay emphasised the importance of blood donation. He also discussed how blood donation can bridge the gaps between people from different areas and societies.
More than 100 serving personnel of BSF including senior officers donated blood.
