Shillong, Jul 31: The Border Security Force (BSF) Meghalaya Frontier saved the life of a person suffering from Hematemesis (vomiting of blood) on Wednesday in Hawai Bhoi village, West Jaiñtia Hills district, displaying dedication and humanitarian commitment.
Personnel from the 4 Battalion of the BSF stationed at the border outpost in Muktapur responded to an emergency call from the headman of the village, Phumen Shadap that one Sanjay Shadap who was suffering from Hematemesis requires immediate medical attention.
The BSF said as the village is inaccessible due to poor road conditions and no ambulance service able to reach the location, its personnel navigated through the difficult and challenging terrain with a Bolero Camper vehicle and safely evacuated the patient to BOP Muktapur.
The patient who was later transferred to a BSF ambulance to NEIGRIHMS, Shillong is currently stable and receiving expert care, the BSF said.

From rescue operations to medical assistance, BSF continues to serve as a dependable force of protection, compassion, and national service,” the BSF said.
