With an aim to spread awareness and educate the people about cancer, the Border Security Force (BSF) Meghalaya observed World Cancer Day at the Composite Hospital here today.
Dr Angel Bennet, DIG (Med) educated BSF personnel and their family members on various types of cancer prevailing in society and preventions to be taken. During the programme, a cancer screening camp was also held in which 80 persons underwent cancer screening.
BSF Inspector General Pradip Kumar attended the programme as chief guest where he addressed the gathering and urged them to have a healthy and happy life, and encouraged them to change their lifestyle and food habits to keep cancer at bay.
