Honouring the martyrs of the nation, the Border Security Force (BSF) Meghalaya yesterday organised an ‘Amrit Kalash Yatra’ under the Meri Mati Mera Desh campaign in villages along the international border.
The ‘Amrit Kalash Yatra’ is a tribute to the sacrifices made by valiant soldiers and citizens who have contributed to India’s independence and security and was launched by the central government on September 1 to commemorate India’s 75th year of independence.
Soil was collected from the border villages of Lyngkhat, Pyrdiwah, Umsyiem, Dawki, Kongwang, etc in East Khasi Hills and West Jaiñtia Hills.
