The Border Security Force (BSF) handed over a minor Bangladeshi national, who entered Indian territory inadvertently, to its counterpart Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) today as a goodwill gesture.
The BSF said the minor boy was apprehended from a border area in South Garo Hills yesterday. He was intercepted while roaming inside Indian territory after inadvertently crossing the international boundary.
BSF, Meghalaya frontier Inspector General, Inderjit Singh Rana said that BSF always adopts a humanitarian approach in such cases where victims are minors or innocent. Both the border guarding forces have developed an understanding on such subjects and these issues are amicably resolved to strengthen the existing relationship and to enhance mutual trust between both the neighbouring countries.
