The 22nd Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF) Meghalaya foiled a smuggling attempt and seized miscellaneous items worth Rs 21 lakh near the international border in West Garo Hills district on February 17.
In a statement today, the BSF said acting on specific intelligence inputs the personnel intercepted the consignment while it was being smuggled into Bangladesh. However, the miscreants fled the scene taking advantage of the undulating terrain and darkness.
The seized items have been handed over to the concerned custom office authorities for further investigation.
