Personnel of the Border Security Force (BSF) Meghalaya yesterday apprehended a Bangladeshi national who was in possess of several bottles of liquor in the border area of East Jaintia Hills.
Acting on a specific tip-off, vigilant troops of the 172nd Battalion conducted a special operation around Border Outpost Dona, leading to the apprehension of one Bangladeshi national identified as Shameem (22), a resident of Sylhet district, along with the liquor bottles.
Shameem and the alcohol were handed over to Umkiang police station for further level action.
