A motorable bridge that, it is hoped, will make a big difference to the lives of villages along the Meghalaya-Assam border was inaugurated by Jirang MLA Sosthenes Sohtun at Umtyrnga village, Ri-Bhoi, today.
The bridge, constructed at a cost of Rs 25.28 lakh, was constructed under the Interstate Border Area Development Programme.
It has been constructed to meet the requirements of people in the area, who cross the river to transport their agricultural produce.
