Shillong, Nov 20: The Me’gong Festival organising committee has announced the first wave of performers for Me’gong Festival 2025, featuring two of Bollywood’s most loved voices who will bring their music and energy to this year’s celebration.
Neeti Mohan and Kanika Kapoor are scheduled to perform at the Me’gong Festival 2025, which will be held in Garo Hills on December 5 and 6, the Tourism Department said.
Neeti Mohan will take the state on December 5. She is widely regarded as one of India’s finest playback singers and is celebrated for popular hit songs, including Ishq Wala Love, Jiya Re, Nainowale Ne, and Kheech Meri Photo.
On December 6, Kanika Kapoor will perform for festival audiences. Known for blockbuster songs such as Baby Doll, Chittiyaan Kalaiyaan, Lovely, and Jugni Ji, she brings a dynamic and high-energy style that has made her one of Bollywood’s most recognisable voices.
International performers for both the days will be announced soon, the statement said.
Me’gong Festival is one of Meghalaya’s landmark cultural showcases, celebrating the rich traditions of the Garo community through music, indigenous art, local crafts, culinary attractions, and immersive cultural experiences.
The 2025 edition is expected to draw thousands of visitors from across the country, creating meaningful opportunities for local artisans, entrepreneurs, businesses, and the tourism ecosystem of the Garo Hills.
Details on ticket sales, schedules, and the announcement of both international acts will be shared soon through the Meghalaya Tourism website and official social media platforms.
The festival, to be held amidst the natural beauty of the Garo Hills promises to bring together music, art, cuisine, and cultural experiences to promote pride, tourism, and wider visibility for the region.
