National People’s Party (NPP) vice president and deputy chief minister Prestone Tynsong today slammed the BJP’s threat to pull out from the coalition and termed it a political gimmick.
Attacking BJP Meghalaya in-charge Chuba Ao over his recent statement that the party plans to withdraw its support from the NPP-led MDA government, if proof of alleged scams and illegalities comes into their hand, Tynsong said pulling out is already “too late.”
“This is a political gimmick created by the so-called high command of the BJP or maybe it is in the capacity of his own views that I don’t know but the way the allegations made from time to time it is found to be a political gimmick,” he said.
Tynsong also accused the BJP of using the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) as “political tools”, an accusation, which he stated was raised by other parties such as AAP and TMC.
“…it seems that BJP now proves very clearly as alleged by AAP and be it by TMC, they are using the ED or CBI as their political tool,” Tynsong said, adding, “In fact I would like to advise him (Ao) why not you first ask ED, ask CBI to be in place… why should you unnecessarily pull out yourself if you are so clean?”
