Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla will address a conference of Assembly Speakers of the eight north-eastern states here on July 29.
The 20th annual conference of Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA), India Region Zone III will be held here from July 29 to August 1.
CPA Zone III consists of Assembly Speakers of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura.
The inaugural session will also be attended by Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh Narayan Singh.
All Speakers, Deputy Speakers from the eight North East states will be attending the conference besides officials of Sansad TV, New Delhi.
The conference will discuss the strategies for management of natural disasters in the North East and ways to improve regional connectivity in the region.
