A biker died while a pillion rider suffered severe injuries after the bike they were riding was hit by an escort car of Home Minister Lahkmen Rymbui today.
According to reports, the incident occurred at Kera area on the Songsak road near Williamnagar.
Rymbui was on his way to Williamnagar for an official visit.
The dead biker was identified as Joakim Marak (45).
The injured pillion rider identified as Marchim Sangma was rushed to Williamnagar Civil Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Police are investigating the matter.
