Shillong, Mar 20: Police in Garo Hills apprehended a 23-year-old Bangladeshi national, Abdul Razak, during a routine vehicle inspection near Dalu on Thursday.
Razak was intercepted at the Karonggre tri-junction while traveling on a Guwahati-bound bus. According to authorities, the individual, a resident of Sylhet’s Habiganj district, was unable to produce a valid passport or visa to justify his presence in India.
He was arrested and charged under the Foreigners Act at the Dalu Police Station for illegal entry.
