The East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner has allowed all IMFL on licence bars to reopen for business from October 31, it was informed today.
This comes after the state government gave the go-ahead for the reopening of bars earlier this month.
Bars will have to strictly comply with standard operating procedures laid out by the Excise, Registration, Taxation and Stamps Department.
All licensees are required to intimate the DC’s office upon reopening and submit an undertaking that SOPs will be strictly adhered to.
Spot inspections will be carried out to verify compliance with the SOPs. Violations could result in closure of the offending establishments.
