A 32-year old banking agent, who was travelling between Guwahati to Tura was allegedly abducted under mysterious circumstances on the Tura–Dalu road yesterday.
According to information received, Jyotirmoy Barma (32) works as an agent of Axis Bank in Tura in West Garo Hills. His family reported him missing on the morning of March 28 between Tura – Dalu on NH 51 after returning from Guwahati in the night bus the same morning.
“A case has been registered and a special investigation team (SIT) led by the SDPO of Dadenggre formed to investigate into the abduction. We are currently conducting search operations for the victim while trying to locate the abductors,” West Garo Hills Superintendent of Police Dr MGR Kumar said.
