The Border Security Force (BSF) in collaboration with the East Khasi Hills district administration today dedicated a bamboo bridge to villagers of Huroi.
The bridge which was constructed over a stream was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Abhilash Baranwal and BSF DIG, Sandeep Rawat in the presence of BSF commandant, Sanjay Sharma.
“The bridge was very much needed since long by the villagers and they appreciated the initiative taken by the BSF and civil administration for construction of the bridge and have requested to construct similar type bridges on other streams also,” the BSF said.
BSF in a statement said they are trying to rope in business houses for funding such project under CSR and has suggested various projects for upliftment of bordering populace to these business houses.
