A baby boy was found abandoned at the premises of the Lawei Baphyrnai Children Home in Langkyrding on September 3.
East Khasi Hills District Child Protection Officer has informed that the infant is now under the care and protection of the Child Welfare Committee Shillong.
The DCPO has also sought information regarding the whereabouts of the biological parents/mother or relatives of the baby before he will be declared legally free for adoption, if no response is made within a period of two months.
