Shillong, Apr 8: The District Child Protection Officer, District Child Protection Unit, East Khasi Hills today informed that a newborn infant boy was abandoned at the Out Patient Department gate of Ganesh Das Hospital in Lawmali on March 23 at 8:25 pm.
The infant is now under the care and protection of Lawei Baphyrnai, Specialised Adoption Agency, Shillong.
Claims by family/relative, etc can be made to the office of the District Child Protection Unit (Phone 0364 7962188), office of the Child Welfare Committee (0364 7962188) or Lawei Baphyrnai Specialised Adoption Agency (9612168593).
If, however, this baby is unclaimed for 60 days, it will be declared legally free for adoption.
