A blood donation awareness and camp was held at the Nongpoh Civil Hospital Blood Bank as part of the ‘Raktdaan Amrit Mahotsav’ today.
The camp saw the participation of members of the Hynñiewtrep National Youth Front (HNYF), Northern Region and TULBA, Nongoh circle who donated blood.
Under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, a countrywide mega blood donation drive called ‘Raktdaan Amrit Mahotsav’ which began today. The drive would continue till October 1, the National Voluntary Blood Donation Day (NVBDD).
The drive aims to collect close to one lakh units of blood on a day besides raising awareness about the need for regular non-remunerated voluntary blood donations. One unit translates to 350 ml of blood.
