A meeting of the Assembly’s Public Account and Privileges sub-committee was held in Resubelpara today.
Committee convenor, Zenith M Sangma, and members George Lyngdoh and Lazarus M Sangma met the heads of all line departments and reviewed the status of the ongoing central and state-sponsored schemes.
Zenith stressed on the importance of coordination and progressive efforts among the line departments for the effective implementation of the central and state schemes.
During the meeting, serious note pertaining to the problems being faced by the government functionaries as well as suggestions were heard and the committee assured further that the issues will be redressed.
During the meeting, the members discussed various national schemes, schemes under the Public Works Department, Fisheries, Forest and issues relating to the Transport and Medical Departments were discussed.
Others who were present in the meeting were North Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner RP Marakm, Assistant Deputy Commissioner ZJ Sangma, Border Development Officers Ripamchi Sangma, Kapil Koch and Rosalinda D Shira as well as officials from other line departments.
A similar meeting will be held in Mendipathar tomorrow.
